For men, experiencing the pain of childbirth through a simulator is becoming trendy. First, this Dutch TV couple decided to give it a go and their video went viral, the Americans followed and now is the turn of the Irish. Henry McKean apparently suffered contractions for a little over 2 hours, and he describes the pain ”as hundreds of electric toothbrushes in your stomach going off a once”. My other half asked me if that was what I felt. I looked at him, rolled my eyes and said : No

I cannot describe labour pain. The only accurately description would be, the pain of your body tearing up in half. Yep, that would do. Henry also said: “the pain was shooting from my chest right down into my testicles. I didn’t think it was ever going to end”. Yes Henry, that is more likely.Now Henry says he admires and respect women much more.

So, lads: Do you have to be tortured with labour pain simulators to accept how painful and hard childbirth is?
